Margaret Chen.
Solicitor of the Senior Courts, twenty-two years in UK immigration practice, four of them in sole practice at Chen Immigration Law.
Margaret read law at the LSE and qualified as a solicitor in 2003. She spent eleven years in the immigration team at one of the City's top firms, made associate in 2010 and senior associate in 2013. She left in 2015 to spend seven years at a respected Lincoln's Inn immigration boutique before opening her own practice in 2022.
The practice is deliberately small. Margaret handles every matter herself. There is one part-time paralegal, Anna, who manages document logistics. There is no team of trainees, no offshore back office, no algorithm.
What she works with
Skilled worker and global talent visas, family routes (spouse, parent and child), settlement and naturalisation, appeals and judicial review, business and investor visas. She does not take on asylum work; she will refer you to specialists if that is what you need.
Regulation
Margaret is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Her SRA number is fictional-123456 (this is a showcase site). The firm is covered by professional indemnity insurance to £3m per claim through SRA-approved insurers.
Fees
The consultation is £150. After the consultation, every piece of work is quoted as a fixed fee, in writing, before it begins. Most full applications fall between £1,200 and £4,500 depending on complexity. There are no hourly billing surprises.
