How we work with you.
Plain-English summary of our terms. A full engagement letter is signed before any chargeable work begins.
Fees
The consultation is £150 (or £400 for the in-person strategy session). All further work is quoted as a fixed fee, in writing, before it begins. We do not bill by the hour.
Cancellation
You may cancel or reschedule a consultation up to 24 hours before the booked time using the link in your confirmation email. After that point the consultation fee is charged.
Confidentiality
Everything you share with us is covered by legal professional privilege and by our duty of confidentiality. The only standard exceptions apply: where we are required to report under AML legislation, or where you authorise disclosure to a third party.
Complaints
If something we have done is not right, please tell Margaret directly in the first instance. Our written complaints procedure is available on request and is sent automatically to every client at the start of a matter. If we cannot resolve a complaint to your satisfaction you may refer it to the Legal Ombudsman.
Regulation
Chen Immigration Law is the trading name of Margaret Chen, regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Our SRA Standards and Regulations apply to all the work we do for you.
